Corporate Seminars Australia Collection Notice
This Collection Notice sets out the matters described in Australian
Privacy Principle (APP)5.2 (as part of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth))
as they relate to Corporate Seminars Australia (CSA), when we
collect personal information about you.
CSA collects personal information about you primarily to record and
manage your purchase of a product or other service from us, or if it
is reasonable to expect that we would use or disclose your personal
information, for purposes which are related to these primary
purposes.
We may also use your personal information:
- to notify you of important taxation or other developments, or request feedback about taxation or other developments;
- and other services that we can provide.
Where possible, we will provide you with a choice to opt-out of any
of the above and any of our marketing communications. We will
respect your request to decline to receive these marketing
communications.
In some cases, we are required to collect your personal information
to comply with our legal and regulatory requirements. If you
do not provide the necessary personal information, we may not be
able to provide the service, product or information you have
requested from us.
Unless it is unreasonable and impracticable to do so, we collect
your personal information from you directly.
In some cases we may also collect information about you and third
parties such as list marketing & data marketing brokers who
provide us with mailing lists, from your accountant, or from other
third parties.
We will take reasonable steps to let you know that we have collected
your personal information, unless it is obvious from the
circumstances that you would know or would expect us to have the
information.
As well as your firm or employer, we may disclose your personal
information to the following third parties:
- Government departments and regulatory authorities such as the Australian Taxation Office, Australian Securities and Investments Commission and the Tax Practitioners Board;
- IT technicians who may need access when providing on-site support (although it is our practice for them to work under the supervision of one of our own IT technicians); and
- file storage service providers.
We may disclose your personal information to these third parties so
that they can assist us with providing the best possible service to
you and your employer. The privacy and collection practices of
entities to whom we disclose personal information are governed by
their own Privacy Policies and Collection Notices.
We are not likely to disclose information to overseas recipients and
would only do so in accordance with legal requirements.
Privacy Policy
We understand that you value your privacy and wish to have your
personal information kept secure. For these reasons, we place a high
priority on the security of the personal information we hold. We
have developed a Privacy Policy to inform you of how we manage your
personal information and maintain its integrity and security.
Our Privacy Policy is available for you to view on our website (Corporate Seminars Australia Privacy Policy).
By providing personal information to us, you are taken to have read,
and consent to the collection, use, disclosure and handling of your
personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Our Privacy Policy contains information about how you may access the
personal information we hold about you, and seek the correction of
such information, if you believe it to be incorrect. Our Privacy
Policy also contains information about how you may complain about a
breach of the APPs and how we will deal with such a complaint.
